How do i change a thermostat on a 1997 honda civic?

I believe the thermostat is connected on the Lower Radiator Hose. Just look at the end of the hose that connects to the engine. Disconnect battery. Let car cool down. Remove hose. Remove 2 screws. Take off the thermostat housing. Pop the thermostat out. Put the new one in facing the exact same way! Reconnect everything ending with the battery. Oh and it helps to drain out like half of your car's antifreeze or water. I use water thats why I did not care if it spilled.
