My car is tore up and I have tried to change the thermostat, change the fans, and?

it still isn't working, the radiator hose feels tight and it gets hot what is the next thing to check, could it still be the thermostat or do you think it is what?My car is tore up and I have tried to change the thermostat, change the fans, and?Did you put the thermostst in properly ?? The part that looks like a bellows or accordion goes down into the block. Next is radiator, do you have circulation ?? let the engine get to operating temp with radiator cap off. Look in radiator and see if water is moving, If the water is bubbling(air bubbles) you have a leaky head gasket. Check your dipstick for moisture, water in oil will make a milky color. If this checks out , turn off the engine and put your hands carefully on the radiator core and feel for any cool spots. If you find spots that are cooler than others you have a plugged radiator which I suspect is your problem with the limited info. given. My car is tore up and I have tried to change the thermostat, change the fans, and?hi kitten try changing oil putting in radiator cooler and if it still gets hot drive with heater on it takes the heat out of the engine bayMy car is tore up and I have tried to change the thermostat, change the fans, and?It may have a blown head gasket. You can tell if you check the radiator hose when its cold and then there is no pressure. Then after you start it within a minute there is pressure already in the hose. also you may have whitish goup on the dipstick or oil filler cap. Just a guessMy car is tore up and I have tried to change the thermostat, change the fans, and?You have given us some information, but we don't really know what the problem is.

If the car is overheating, check to see if the fans are turning. I assume that you did replace the thermostat with a new unit of the correct heat range?

If the water pump has failed the car will also overheat.

Is the radiator restricted for flow, either coolant or the air over the core?

Some cars are also prone to an %26quot;Air Lock%26quot; where air is trapped in the cooling system and must be bled out.

Hope this gives you some direction.

Good Luck and Merry Christmas
