If the car is overheating, check to see if the fans are turning. I assume that you did replace the thermostat with a new unit of the correct heat range?
If the water pump has failed the car will also overheat.
Is the radiator restricted for flow, either coolant or the air over the core?
Some cars are also prone to an %26quot;Air Lock%26quot; where air is trapped in the cooling system and must be bled out.
