i just pulled my old radiator, why did oil or something come out of copper line at bottom of radiator? How do i change the thermostat in my 02 rodeo? v-6 auto?follow the top radiator hose to where it connects to the engine, take the hose off of where it attaches to the engine, now ther is two bolts that hold the flange(spout)on the engine, remove the two bolts and take the flange off,the thermostat sets in the hole under the flange, remove the thermostat and the gasket replace with new and reassemble.the oil that came out of the copper line is transmission fluid, the copper line is the transmission cooling line, the fluid circulates through the radiator to be cooled, then back to the tranny.????look again! the hose does not connect to a belt,at least not on any car i have ever seen,......How could the belt turn if it had a hose connected to it?it could'nt without ripping the hose off.no matter what you see i gaurantee the thermostat is at the end of that hose. How do i change the thermostat in my 02 rodeo? v-6 auto?Transmission cooler. (automatic)
Those lines go back to the transmission.
Follow the upper radiator hose to the engine.
Remove the(2) bolts holding the housing to the engine.
Inside there is the thermostat.
ADDED:
Uhhh.....?Look again.
It may be hard to see. Stuffed behind something maybe, but it's there.
Might be a PITA to get to.
